While the first version of the app looked amazing, Lukander was forced to develop one for iOS to target Apple’s growing customer base. Their original app even won a design contest in Finland, where the company is from. Lukander praised Nokia’s development tools, as they allowed him to develop a solid and simple app that was visually appealing.

Kristian Lukander, chairman and founder of fluid, explained that their software had originally been developed on Nokia’s operating system, which he called the best out there.
One such example of the importance of being on Apple’s iPhones and iPads was provided by twheel, a new twitter interface developed by fluid interaction. Either apps were built directly for Apple’s operating system, or developers were forced to switch in order to tap the app store that has seen more than 25 billion downloads this year (in comparison, Google’s Android Market hit 10 billion app downloads last December).
